Brandon Marshall Switching New York Teams, Reportedly Signs with Giants

Chicago Bears Rumors, NFL News and Rumors

The New York Jets recently decided to let wide receiver – and old friend – Brandon Marshall go, adding another interesting wideout to the free agent market.

Sounds like Marshall isn’t going too far:

While it’s interesting in any case to think about Marshall moving on to the new digs, and the implications for the Giants’ offense, it’s probably more interesting to know what kind of deal he’s getting:

Marshall, 33 later this month, is coming off a down 2016 season, but was huge for the Jets in 2015. The Bears are in the market for a wide receiver or two, and Marshall’s deal suggests there’s an appetite out there to spend on “next tier” wide receivers. In other words, even if the Bears decide to pass on the high end of free agency (re-signing Alshon Jeffery or maybe going after Kenny Stills), they may still have to commit decent dollars to reel in contributors.

At last check, the Bears had been connected to Cordarrelle Patterson and Andre Holmes, in addition to Jeffery and Stills.
