The entire Chicago Bears schedule isn’t expected to be released until 7 p.m. central tonight, but the leaks are starting to come out.

The latest from Brad Biggs:

Surprise! The Bears – even after a dismal 3-13 season – still get an early season primetime game with a Monday Night Football showdown with the Minnesota Vikings on October 9. And once again, the Bears will close the season with a road trip to the Vikings’ new facility, U.S. Bank Stadium. Here’s hoping the Bears close out the regular season and the 2017 calendar year in style.

Another game of interest will come against the Carolina Panthers, who will be in town on Sunday, Oct. 22. Ron Rivera returns to Soldier Field for the first time since 2012, while Bears head coach John Fox takes on one of his former teams. The game will also feature the return of another former Bears star because Julius Peppers re-signed with the team that drafted him second overall in 2002.

You can check out the Bears’ preseason opponents and schedule here.

UPDATE 1: Bears at Packers on Thursday, September 28th!

Wow. Now we’re looking at back-to-back prime time games, with the Bears getting 10 days between their Thursday Night Football game against the Packers and the team’s Monday night tilt against the Vikings. This is marks the second consecutive season of the Bears getting back-to-back prime time contests. In 2016, the Bears had a similar schedule traveling to see the Packers in Week 7 on Thursday Oct. 20 before coming home to host the Vikings after a lengthy layoff (on Monday night, no less) on Halloween Night in Week 8.

UPDATE 2 (from Brett): Brad Biggs busts it all out:

We’ll deconstruct the schedule a bit more later when it’s official, but my early take is that, among other things, that’s not a bad December slate if the Bears get some breaks (a lot of breaks?) and are at the periphery of playoff contention when the month starts.
