That’s Bears Football! Kwiatkoski’s Sack-Strip and Howard’s Run Set Up Shaheen’s TD

Chicago Bears Highlights

Riding a hard-hitting defense and a smash-mouth running game is a formula that is tried, true, and synonymous with Chicago Bears football.

And it all leads to this:

Linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski’s second sack in as many weeks and a 50-yard run from Jordan Howard set up a 1-yard touchdown pass from Mitch Trubisky to Adam Shaheen. The goal-line score gave the Bears a 10-0 lead over the Detroit Lions.

It wouldn’t have been possible without the pressure applied by Kwiatkoski and Leonard Floyd that allowed defensive end Akiem Hicks to jump on the Matthew Stafford fumble:

And rather than air it out after the turnover, the Bears threw a wrinkle at the Lions defense with a pump-fake draw play to Howard that went for a HUGE 50-yard gain:

The Bears came off the bus hitting in what has been their most energetic showing all season. If this keeps up, we might look back on Isaiah Irving using the hit-stick on Detroit’s kick returner as something that woke up this Bears team:
