Watch Bears Offense Show A New Look On Jordan Howard’s Touchdown Run

Chicago Bears Highlights

Offensive Coordinator Dowell Loggains seems set on unloading the playbook one week after the team struggled to move the ball against the Green Bay Packers.

It helps having Jordan Howard running at full strength. His 12-yard touchdown run just gave the Bears a 17-7 lead in the second quarter. Here’s how it went down:

The Bears haven’t run often out of the shotgun formation with Howard this year, but maybe that touchdown run will change things moving forward. Howard averaged 7.0 yards per carry out of the shotgun as a rookie in 2016, but that number has dropped to 3.9 in 2017. It was nice to see the Bears go into that bag of tricks.

Howard has run out of the shotgun on just 4.5 percent of his attempts this season, which is down from 37.3 percent in 2016. This could be a nice little wrinkle for Howard, especially with Mitch Trubisky being a threat to run for a big gain.
